    In response to patient complaints of dry eye, starbursts, halos and other post-surgical complications, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials gathered in Gaithersburg, Md., April 25 to review issues associated with poor outcomes from refractive surgery, including laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) and phakic intraocular lenses (IOLs).
